Elite Youth Sports are looking for SEN Camp Assistants to join our friendly team during the school holidays across Oxfordshire.

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm
Salary: £10.00 – £12.75 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Reporting to: Camp Manager
Locations: Abingdon, Bicester, Botley, Didcot, Henley, Newbury, Thame, Wantage, Wallingford, Witney

About the Role

Work takes place during the school holidays at our Multi-Activity Holiday Camps for children aged 4–13 years. You’ll play a key role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEND) to access and enjoy the full camp experience.

Our camps offer a wide range of Elite activities including Bubble Football, Laser Tag, Nerf Wars, Water Wars, Glow in the Dark Dodgeball, and traditional sports and arts & crafts. As an SEN Camp Coach, you’ll adapt and assist with activities to ensure that every child feels included, confident, and supported throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for children with SEN/SEND
  • Help adapt and deliver a range of fun, inclusive activities
  • Ensure a safe, engaging and supportive environment for all children
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and camp staff
  • Be a positive role model for children at all times
  • Support the Camp Manager and wider team with general camp duties

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience working with SEN/SEND children
  • 1 year’s experience in a childcare, teaching, or sports coaching setting
  • Minimum age 18
  • A confident, energetic, and caring personality
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare

Desirable

  • SEN qualification or teaching assistant qualification
  • A full driving licence and own transport
  • Up to date DBS on update service (can be applied for)
  • Safeguarding Certificate (training will be provided)
